It is incredibly disappointing that Dick Smith has gone into voluntary administration and the SDA understands that this announcement may leave employees unclear about their future with the Company.
The receivers have advised that Dick Smith employees will continue to receive their normal pay and stores will continue to operate whilst a decision is made about the future of the business.
The SDA has contacted Dick Smith regarding the announcement and the effect of the decision on members’ jobs.
Dick Smith has a legal duty to notify employees who may be affected, and their representatives, of any proposed major workplace change and to discuss that change.
The SDA will keep you informed of any new developments and our priority will be to work with the administrators to ensure our members jobs and entitlements are protected.
